STEPS FOR APPLYING YOUR VINYL DECAL

  1. Choose a smooth surface for the application. Clean the surface. Alcohol is best, or glass cleaner will do.

  2. Temporarily tape the decal to the surface. Use two small pieces of tape at the top of the decal, making sure to adhere the tape to the transfer paper, not the backing paper of the decal.

  3. Measure. The decals you get from Southwest Graphix will have a transparent transfer tape, so viewing the decal for measuring will not be a problem. You can now move the decal around until you get it to the desired location.

  4. Once the decal is in the desired location, lift up the decal, using the tape as a hinge. Remove the backing paper. Using a solution of 3 drops of dishwashing liquid and 1 quart of water combined in a spray bottle, wet the area for the decal and the backside of the now uncovered decal.

  5. Lay the decal down and smooth out with your hand at first. The using a drivers license or a squeegee (just ask and we will give you one with your purchase), press out the liquid and air from the decal. Go in a downward motion so that the liquid is escapes with ease. Once a majority of the decal is pressed down, remove the pieces of tape, then squeegee down the rest of the decal.

  6. Using a fingernail, start pulling up the transfer tape. Going in a diagonal direction provides the easiest and most hassle-free removal. Wipe down area with a dry paper towel.
